Nehemie Moïse Jimerson, LCSW

Personal Profile

Nehemie Moïse Jimerson is a passionate social worker, coach, non-profit leader, and culture curator dedicated to empowering mission-driven organizations to achieve lasting impact. As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Leadership Sustainability & Wellness at North Star Partners, she leverages her expertise in coaching and training to support leaders in aligning with their purpose.

Prior to launching NSP, Nehemie devoted over a decade in the non-profit sector, focusing on the intersection of equity, academia, and the social-emotional well-being of youth and their families. In 2021, she founded Restoratively Speaking, an organization committed to providing mental health support to youth, guiding individuals toward purposeful living, and collaborating with organizations to cultivate environments where individuals and families can thrive emotionally, and achieve mission-aligned growth.

Nehemie's philosophy centers on aligning actions with core values and purpose, employing a restorative approach that emphasizes growth, equity, and collaboration. Her passion for the non-profit sector stems from a deep-seated desire to help individuals and organizations create empowering, equitable, and purpose-driven environments.

A native of Norwalk, CT, Nehemie is a creative spirit, food aficionado, and Converse enthusiast. Her extroverted nature, love for organizing, and creating bring a unique perspective to her work. At home, Nehemie is guided by her love for her family, and her husband, Jamal, who co-founded NSP with her and is a force in leadership development and social impact.

Master of Social Work: ​During my time at the Silver School of Social Work, I focused my studies in social justice and clinical social work. This program equipped me with skills to address complex social issues and advocate for marginalized communities.
 

My unique blend of mental health, restorative practices, and a steadfast commitment to social justice enables me to approach organizational challenges with empathy and strategic insight. This distinctive perspective allows me to effectively support leaders and organizations in aligning their actions with their core values and purpose, fostering environments that are both empowering and equitable.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology: ​During my undergraduate studies at UVM, I majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology and Human Development and Family Studies. This interdisciplinary academic foundation provided me with a comprehensive understanding of individual behavior, societal structures, and developmental processes.​

This diverse academic background has uniquely positioned me to approach organizational challenges with a holistic perspective. By integrating psychological principles, sociological insights, and an understanding of human development, I am able to support leaders and organizations in aligning their actions with their core values and purpose. This approach fosters environments that are both empowering and equitable, facilitating sustainable growth and positive social impact.
